2 Ayyappa devotees dead, 3 others hurt as lorry hits van
Erode (TN), Nov 29 (PTI): Two devotees of Lord Ayyappa
died on the spot and two others were injured in a road
accident near Perundurai in the district early Thursday,
police said.
The devotees, numbering 20, were proceeding in a van
from Vellore to the Ayyappa shrine in Sabarimala, Kerala, when
their vehicle was hit by a container lorry trying to overtake
it, the police said.
Under the impact, Palani (45) and Nagarajan (44) were
killed and three other devotees injured, they said.
The injured were admitted to the government hospital
at Perundurai and their condition was said to be serious, they
added.
