Soccer-Paranaense beat Flamengo but Libertadores place still unsure

Atletico Paranaense came from behind to beat Flamengo 2-1 in Rio on Saturday, but other results meant it was not quite enough to earn them a top-six place and a guaranteed spot in next year's Copa Libertadores.

Rhodolfo put Flamengo ahead midway through the first half when he headed home a corner but Matheus Rossetto and Rony got second-half goals to give Paranaense the three points.

Atletico Mineiro's 1-0 win over Botafogo ensured they maintained their two-point advantage and Atletico, who are in the final of the Copa Sudamericana, South America's equivalent of the Europa League, must now win that tournament to have any chance of playing in the Libertadores in 2019.

Flamengo will finish second in Serie A, behind champions Palmeiras.
