Sachin Tendulkar has donated his entire Rajya Sabha salary in Prime Minister's Relief Fund. The total amount was nearly INR 90 lakh which includes salary and monthly allowances.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued a letter acknowledging his thoughtful gesture.

"These contributions will be of immense help in providing assistance to the person in distress", the letter says.

He adopted two villages, Donja in Maharastra and Puttam Kandriga in Andhra Pradesh under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana.

Tendulkar's office has sanctioned 185 projects across the country. His office claimed that INR 7.4 crore were put in educational development for building classrooms and improving infrastructure.
