Cardinals put LT Humphries on injured reserve

Updated: 06-12-2018 02:38 IST

The Arizona Cardinals put left tackle D.J. Humphries on injured reserve with a knee injury.

Humphries has been battling a right knee injury since it swelled during the Cardinals' loss at Kansas City on Nov. 11 and missed the last three games.

Last week, coach Steve Wilks said he was "very hopeful" that Humphries would play Sunday in Green Bay, but the 24-year-old suffered a setback that made him inactive.

With Humphries out, Arizona (3-9) is down all five members of the offensive line who started the season: left guard Mike Iupati (knee), right guard Justin Pugh (knee) and starting center A.Q. Shipley (knee) are on IR, and right tackle Andre Smith was released last week for poor performance.

Joe Barksdale, who was released by the Los Angeles Chargers this week, will replace Humphries on the roster. The Cardinals also signed offensive lineman Rees Odhiambo off the Colts' practice squad Wednesday.

Rookie Korey Cunningham will remain at left tackle. He has played in Humphries' place the past three games.
