Slovak foreign minister withdraws resignation after migrant pact row

Updated: 07-12-2018 14:42 IST
Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak has withdrawn his resignation and will stay in the cabinet after a dispute over the country's decision to reject a U.N. pact on the treatment of migrants, he said in a ministry statement on Friday.

Lajack, who protested parliament's vote against the global deal, said on Friday he reversed his decision after guarantees from Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini that the country would not change its foreign policy course. (Reporting by Tatiana Jancarikova Editing by Peter Graff)
