The Qatar Red Crescent announces implementation and financing of an integrated USD1 million programmes in its health sector development strategy in the Gaza Strip.
According to the organization, the plan intends at improving the quality of healthcare services and will execute over two years.
It will focus on the recruitment of medical expertise and the launching of postgraduate study programs for doctors QRCS enhances continuing medical Education Capacity in Gaza.
Sending Palestinian doctors from Gaza specializing in urinary tract disorders to study in Qatar as part of the Emir's scholarship scheme, is also the part of the program. Doctors who are unable to develop their professional skills or study further will also be funded for training within the territory.
The QRCS works effortlessly to reduce detrimental effects of catastrophe and relieve suffering by contributing social and humanitarian services coinciding with the mission of its parent organization, the Red Crescent.
The organization has been supporting Gaza with the humanitarian aid programmes in the healthcare sector since 2008 providing medical and ambulance services and other necessities.
According to the World Health Organization, the territory is affected by a protracted crisis and chronic humanitarian needs. There has been a further deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Gaza which impacts two million people and is life-threatening for vulnerable patients.
