Report: Titans TE Smith (MCL) out for year

Updated: 08-12-2018 02:31 IST

Tight end Jonnu Smith suffered a season-ending MCL injury in the Tennessee Titans' win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Smith hurt his knee while blocking on running back Derrick Henry's historic 99-yard touchdown run.

Taking over for injured starter Delanie Walker, Smith has 20 catches for 258 yards and three touchdowns this season.

Having caught passes in seven straight games, Smith didn't see any passes come his way in Thursday's 30-9 victory.

Right tackle Jack Conklin is also expected to miss time after suffering a knee injury against the Jaguars. The injury could be season-ending though Titans coach Mike Vrabel didn't want to discuss the possible length he'd be sidelined until the results of an MRI exam are known.
