The Kansas City Chiefs waived defensive end Jarvis Jenkins to add wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin to the roster, the team announced Friday.
Jenkins, 30, has been with the Chiefs the last three seasons and was a rotational player for them. He's totaled 20 tackles and one sack in 30 career games (one start) with the Chiefs.
With the trade deadline past, Jenkins is subject to waivers. If he's not picked up in the next 24 hours, he'll be free to sign with any club.
Benjamin, who was released by the Buffalo Bills earlier this week after two seasons, practiced with the team Friday but is not expected to play on Sunday.
His signing, which was reported Thursday, comes amid reports that wideout Sammy Watkins could miss four to six weeks after tweaking his foot in Thursday's practice.
