The Denver Broncos have blocked requests from the Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons to interview Gary Kubiak for their offensive coordinator positions, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Kubiak, a former head coach and current senior personnel advisor for the Broncos, remains with Denver as the team tries to find its next head coach.

The Broncos fired coach Vance Joseph after the season ended, his second year on the job. Joseph was hired in January 2017 to replace Kubiak, who retired.

Denver would like to keep Kubiak, who is still under contract, and have him work with the next head coach. Kubiak reportedly would prefer to stay in Denver.

The Broncos finished the season with a 6-10 record after a loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, giving Joseph a record of 11-21, a .344 winning percentage. The Broncos' last playoff game was their Super Bowl victory with Peyton Manning at quarterback in Feb. 2016, when Kubiak was coach.
