Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon is expected to play in Sunday's divisional playoff game at the New England Patriots, according to an NFL Network report Tuesday.

Per the report, Gordon's left knee injury is a slight sprain. It's similar to the injury he battled on his right knee that kept him out of three games in Weeks 13-15, but Gordon is expected to play through the issue.

Gordon hurt the left knee in Sunday's wild-card win over the Baltimore Ravens but played through it while wearing a knee brace. He had already been wearing a brace on his right knee since returning from that injury.

He finished Sunday with 17 carries for 40 yards and a touchdown and one catch for 3 yards while playing 32 snaps. Backup Austin Ekeler played 39 snaps and finished with 11 carries for 29 yards, plus four receptions for 14 yards.

The 25-year-old Gordon reached his second Pro Bowl in the last three years after totaling 1,375 total yards and 14 total touchdowns in the regular season.
