Soccer-Bayern's Ribery suffers thigh muscle injury
Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has been ruled out for an indefinite period after picking up a thigh muscle injury in training, the German champions said on Thursday.
Ribery, who last week was fined an undisclosed amount by his club for an obscenity-laden social media outburst over a visit to a Dubai restaurant where he ate a gold-flaked steak, was hurt during a training match on Wednesday.
"Franck Ribery tore muscle fibres in his right thigh during a match in training on Wednesday evening and will be out for now," Bayern said in a statement.
The 35-year-old Frenchman, who has been at Bayern since 2007, is in his last season in Munich, the German champions said.
The Bundesliga resumes next week after the winter break, with Bayern in second place, six points behind Borussia Dortmund.
