Minister proposes no deduction from prize money of Haryana int'l players

Affairs Minister Anil Vij has proposed changes in the sports policy to ensure no deduction is made from the prize money of state's international medal winners.

Vij today said he has forwarded his proposal to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and once he approves it, it would be taken up in the next Cabinet meeting.

The minister made the disclosure while answering media persons' posers over the proposed deduction from the prize money of sportsperson, employed by various government departments, including Indian Railways.

He said the present government has been working for the betterment of sports, he said.

"Even if we have to amend the policy 100 times for the

betterment of sports, we will certainly do it," he added.

Vij said the state government would celebrate the International Yoga Day like a festival for which all arrangements and preparations had been made.

The celebrations would be carried out at the district, sub-division level and even at block level this time. Hundreds of social organizations and non-government organizations would take part in the celebrations, he added.
