Niti Aayog's June 22 meeting in Srinagar postponed

Niti Aayog's proposed meeting on Friday with the officials of Jammu and Kashmir government and NGOs has been postponed in view of the imposition of Governor's rule in the state, a senior official said.

The meeting, which was to be coordinated by the Social Welfare Department of the Jammu and Kashmir government in Srinagar, is likely be postponed to a convenient date in July.

Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant was scheduled to lead the Niti Aayog delegation, which among other things was also supposed to discuss the developmental activities in the Aayog's two identified aspirational districts Baramulla and Kupwara.

Jammu and Kashmir was on Wednesday placed under Governor's rule for the fourth time in the last one decade after the BJP withdrew support to its alliance partner PDP, prompting Mehbooba Mufti to resign as the chief minister.
