Milk plant in Ludhiana raided over complaints of irregularities

A joint team of the Punjab vigilance and health and dairy development departments today raided a milk plant here after complaints of irregularities in its functioning, officials said.
The team led by Shiv Kumar Verma, Inspector General of Police (Vigilance ), collected samples including of milk, ghee and other products, they said.
All samples were sent to laboratory for tests, officials said, adding some record books were also taken into possession for investigations.
Kumar said similar type of raid was also conducted at the milk plant's branch in Mohali.
The raids were conducted following complaints regarding alleged irregularities in functioning of milk plants, they said.
