Iran played a sensible defensive football in the first half of the match. while the Spanish players kept hold of the possession and passed around the Iranian players with ease, Iran defense stood strong blocking every Spanish attack. David Silva came close to score a goal for Spain but his shot was blocked by Iran's defense. In the first half, the Iranian defense absorbed every Spanish attack, and they deserve a compliment for holding Spain for 45 minutes.
In the second half, Spain looked sharper in their attacks, while Iran looked to create counter-attacking opportunities.
