Qualcomm Technologies and Datang Mobile have announced their partnership on 5G NR Interoperability and Development Testing (IODT) in 3.5 GHz band based on 3GPP Release 15 specifications, a company statement told.
The testing which will utilize 3GPP 5G NR spec compliant base stations from Datang Mobile and user equipment (UE) from Qualcomm Technologies aims to accelerate the rollout of 5G NR commercial deployments in 2019.
"The efforts to achieve a successful 5G NR IODT with global leading mobile companies such as Qualcomm Technologies and Datang Mobile are essential to driving the commercial launches of standard-compliant 5G NR networks and devices in 2019," said Durga Malladi, senior vice president, engineering, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.
