Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi and Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir have conversed in Khartoum on Thursday.

A discussion was done at the presidential palace in Khartoum stressed on reforming bilateral ties, various joint political and economic issues and regional developments, said by official Sudanese sources.

Egypt's ambassador to Sudan stated that the talks concentrated on Red Sea security and regional threats, as well as peace in South Sudan and the crisis in Libya.

Bashir disclosed that he had concurred with Sisi on a compromise to eliminate all obstacles hindering trade and travel between their countries.

Bashir told a joint press conference with Sisi, "Nothing is standing in the way of developing ties between us. We have wasted years on several issues, but we are forging ahead with our relations and their improvement."

The Egyptian leader expressed that his visit to Sudan is part of Cairo and Khartoum's policy to obtain overall coordination between them and endorse each country's strategic interests in all zones. He also added that "The bond between our people is rare and we share a joint fate."
