Mozambique gets USD 150 mn from World Bank for urban development

Mozambique gets a funding of USD 150 million from World Bank. The money will be used to help pay for Urban development work in Mozambique.

The funding will focus on upliftment of roads in Mozambique's Nampula Province and Zambezia Province. One of the most substantial upgradations will be to a 70km section of the road connecting Namacurra with Quelimane.to improve transport for the agricultural sector in the respective provinces.

Earlier, UN and Mozambique tied up for USD 18 million joint social protection programme.

United Nations in collaboration with Mozambique launched a three-year joint programme on Social Protection. The joint venture aims to support the local vulnerable groups and communities under the burden of poverty and food security.

The project will concentrate on getting the maximum results by bringing people out of poverty by providing them the required aids.
