The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested three persons including an assistant engineer and a panchayat sevak while accepting bribe in Seraikela-Kharswan district, a senior ACB official said.

The arrests were made on the basis of a complaint made by the mukhia, Rajnagar Panchayat, Sukurmani Oraon in this regard, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (ACB), Amar Kumar Pandey.

Pandey said Oraon has alleged that the assistant engineer Sunil Chandra Choudhary, panchayat sevak Ratan Singh Munda and a clerk Shiv Shankar Samal had demanded Rs 90,000 bribe for preparing necessary documents in regard with 24 development projects undertaken by an agency and clearance of its outstanding amount.

Following the verification of the complaint, Pandey said it was found to be true and formal FIR was registered against the three accused on Thursday last.

A team of ACB sleuths headed by Pandey laid a trap and caught all the three red-handed while they were accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 in the office today.
