The mayor of the Russian Black Sea port city of Novorossiisk issued a sea drone alert on Thursday morning, he announced on the Telegram messaging app.

Mayor Andrei Kravchenko urged residents to stay away from the shoreline as a precaution. In past incidents, Ukrainian sea drones have attacked Russian ships near the port, causing disruptions in maritime traffic.

The alert underscores ongoing tensions and the potential for future attacks.
