The Telangana government is set to launch its farm loan waiver programme on Thursday, a key poll promise that will benefit 70 lakh farmers, official sources said.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy previously announced that the government would waive loans up to Rs 2 lakh by August 15. The immediate disbursement includes Rs 7,000 crore for loans up to Rs 1 lakh, to be credited at 4 PM on Thursday.
Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka will meet with bankers ahead of the rollout. Senior officers will be available in the Secretariat to resolve district-level queries. The scheme covers both farmers with and without ration cards, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
