Airbus is expanding its Safety Promotion Centres (SPC) to China, the USA, Germany, and the United Kingdom, according to Nicolas Bardou, product safety communications and aircraft accident crisis response advisor, during a discussion with ANI. The SPC is dedicated to advancing safety within the aviation industry.
Established in 2023, the SPC aims to disseminate safety controls. Airbus already operates a satellite SPC in Bangalore, India. The SPC's core functions include enhancing flight safety through past accident insights, ensuring aircraft safety through rigorous design, manufacturing, testing, and operations, and promoting collaboration within the air transport community.
The Toulouse-based Airbus SPC operates under the motto "Safety is everyone's business." Bardou highlighted the impact of technological advancements on safety, stating that new technologies add a level of safety to aircraft. Airbus is also working with ICAO and EASA to prepare for future pandemics under the initiative "Health Onboard."
