The Yashwantrao Chavan Pratisthan, Mumbai (YCPM) on Friday announced a fellowship programme in honour of NCP president Sharad Pawar in the areas of agriculture, literature and education.

Under the 'Sharad Pawar Inspire Fellowship in Agriculture', 80 people - in two batches - will be given guidance for 12 months. They will be imparted knowledge with latest technologies in agriculture and allied sectors such as artificial intelligence, internet of things, controlled environment agriculture and genetic improvements in animals. Selected fellows will be given a grant of Rs 30,000 and candidates in the age group of 18 to 30 years can apply for the fellowship.

Under the 'Sharad Pawar Inspire Fellowship in Literature', financial grant, including travelling, residential allowance and financial aid for publication work, will be provided to selected authors.

Authors below the age of 35 years are eligible for the fellowship. Ten authors will be selected for this fellowship for the year.

The fellowships in the areas of agriculture and literature will commence from December 12.
