Jamia Millia Islamia University has suspended a professor amid accusations of sexual harassment by four PhD scholars, including one who revoked her admission due to the conduct of the accused.
The suspension, authorized by Vice Chancellor Mohammad Shakeel, places the investigation in the hands of the university's Internal Complaints Committee and restricts the professor from teaching duties during this period.
The professor, accused of using 'uncouth and uncivilised language' and making sexual advances, must report daily to the chief proctor’s office and cannot leave the city without permission.
