China Tests AI Models for Socialist Values

Chinese government officials are testing artificial intelligence companies' large language models to ensure their systems adequately embody core socialist values, according to the Financial Times.

Mandatory government reviews of AI models have been imposed by the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) on major tech firms and AI start-ups, including ByteDance, Alibaba, Moonshot, and 01.AI, sources revealed.

The move aims to evaluate whether these systems align with the principles set by the state.
