Virgin River Season 5 might not release this year! Get production updates

Virgin River Season 5 is official! There are plenty of loose threads to be answered in the fifth season. Fans were hopeful on Tudum event as they did get some scoops that took place on September 24.

Unfortunately, Netflix hasn’t revealed much on Virgin River Season 5 while sharing exclusives like ‘YOU,’ ‘Emily in Paris,’ ‘The Stranger Things,’ and more. That means we are far away from the release of the fifth season of the Netflix romantic drama.

While Netflix greenlit Virgin River Season 5 along with season 4 in September 2021, viewers predicted that both the outing will arrive this year. Season 4 arrived in July but it is not likely that the fifth part to get a 2022 release date.

If we look back, the first two seasons of Virgin River were released just seven months apart, but there was a short gap between Virgin River Season 2 and Season 3. Virgin River Season 4 premiered in July so we could expect the fifth season to release in 2023.

Before the release of the fourth part, Alexandra Breckenridge (plays Mel) stated that if they start Virgin River Season 5 shooting in summer, the fifth season will be out in 2023.

As for its production updates, What's on Netflix confirmed on July 18 that the filming for Virgin River Season 5 had begun in British Columbia. Annette O'Toole, who plays Hope, confirmed this in an interview with PureWow: "I'm actually leaving tomorrow to go to Canada to film season five."

Recently, a series of videos have been shared on the drama’s official Instagram account that gives a glimpse of behind-the-scene looks of Virgin River Season 5. One of the clip captions reads: "I hope you’re as excited for S5 as we are! ❤️."

Virgin River is adapted from the Robyn Carr series of novels. It follows Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) a young midwife and nurse practitioner who moves out of the big city to a small rustic town in Northern California to start a new job. She wished it would be the perfect place to start fresh and leave her painful memories behind. But she soon discovers that small-town living isn't as simple as she expected. She must learn to heal herself before she can truly make the Virgin River her home.
