Thousands of Shia Mourners Mark Ashura Procession in City

Thousands of Shia mourners gathered in the city on Wednesday to honor Imam Hussain's martyrdom anniversary during the Ashura procession. The procession, filled with chest-beating and wailing, commenced from Bota Kadal in Lal Bazar and concluded at Zadibal Imambara, officials reported.

Authorities ensured a peaceful observance of Muharram with adequate security and medical arrangements along the procession route. Security forces were stationed throughout, and police and volunteers set up water stalls for the mourners.

Medical staff, including doctors and paramedics, were also present to manage any emergencies. This year marked the second time authorities permitted the eighth-day procession from Guru Bazar to Dalgate on Monday.
