The Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee refuted on Wednesday allegations made by Jyotirmath Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand regarding the missing 228 kg of gold intended for the Kedarnath temple's internal walls.
Avimukteshwaranand had claimed irregularities in the gold plating process from a few years ago, questioning the whereabouts of the gold.
Temple committee chairman Ajendra Ajay urged Avimukteshwaranand to present evidence to the relevant authorities and cautioned him against politicizing the issue with baseless claims. Ajay asserted that the gold plating, conducted by an experienced donor, was supervised by experts and fully documented.
