Neethu Jojo, a dedicated staff member at a private hospital in Wayanad, is remembered for her bravery during a devastating landslide on July 30. Trapped in her home, she made a distress call that has since gone viral, detailing the early morning horror as water and debris engulfed her surroundings.

In the recording, Neethu describes how five to six families sought refuge in her house, which was safer than theirs. She reached out to a colleague from Dr Moopen's Medical College, who coordinated the rescue efforts, despite uprooted trees blocking the roads and subsequent landslides severing communication.

Tragically, Neethu and three other staff members lost their lives. Rescuers later found her body separate from her home, underlining the extent of the disaster. Her husband, toddler, and mother-in-law survived, embodying a faint hope amid the tragedy.
