K-pop star Suga, a member of the global boy band sensation BTS, issued an apology on Wednesday following police action in Seoul, South Korea. The authorities fined him and revoked his license for drunk driving on an electric scooter.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night when Suga rode the scooter for around 500 meters before tripping while parking, according to Big Hit Music, his label under K-pop firm HYBE. He failed a breathalyser test conducted by nearby police and admitted to breaking traffic laws out of a misplaced sense of security.
Suga, whose real name is Min Yoon-gi, posted an apology on Weverse, a fan platform owned by HYBE, expressing regret for his actions. The 31-year-old artist is currently fulfilling his mandatory military duty in a social service role, following BTS's break from group projects.
