Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh Collaborate to Tackle Human-Wildlife Conflict

Karnataka Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre announced on Thursday that Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh have formalized an agreement to curtail human-wildlife conflicts.

As part of the Memorandum of Understanding, expert teams will be deployed for elephant capture and mahout training. The deal also includes knowledge transfer and the establishment of SOPs for various wildlife management activities.

Following the accord, Andhra Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan expressed his gratitude for Karnataka's cooperation, highlighting the transfer of eight kumki elephants to address rogue elephant problems and crop destruction in Andhra Pradesh.
