Nearly 800 persons with disabilities will receive assistive devices at an event in Uttar Pradesh's Badaun on Thursday, an official statement said. The 'Samajik Adhikarita Shivir' will be inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment B L Verma, the statement issued on Wednesday said.
The camp, part of the ADIP scheme under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, will distribute devices to 791 pre-identified persons with disabilities. The event will feature local representatives and dignitaries.
The assistive devices to be distributed include motorised tricycles, hand-propelled tricycles, folding wheelchairs, walkers, Braille kits, and more. This initiative aims to empower individuals with disabilities by helping them integrate into society, the ministry said.
