Water purification technology startup Boon has secured a substantial USD 5 million in combined equity and debt funding, as announced on Wednesday. The round was led by Spanish Roca Group Ventures and its Venturing Fund, marking Roca Group's first investment in an Indian startup.
Co-founded by IIT Kanpur graduate Vibha Tripathi and PennState alumnus Advait Kumar in 2015, Boon offers app-based water quality monitoring solutions using patented AI-driven predictive filter maintenance technology. Roca Group's previous Indian venture was the acquisition of Parryware in 2008.
In parallel, food and beverage company Ninecamp Ventures has raised USD 2 million in a funding round from angel and non-institutional investors, which included high-profile names like Mohit Gupta and Gaurav Gupta (former Zomato co-founders) and celebrity Vir Das.
