JP Nadda Advocates for World-Class Drug Regulations to Uphold India's 'Pharmacy of the World' Reputation

In a high-level review meeting on Wednesday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda and Union Health Minister underscored the necessity for a world-class regulatory framework for India's pharmaceutical industry. The meeting, attended by former President Ram Nath Kovind and senior officials, emphasized India's role as the 'Pharmacy of the World.'

Nadda advocated for the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) to develop a roadmap to achieve global standards in drug regulation. He highlighted the importance of uniformity, technical upgrades, and a future-oriented approach to ensure the quality of drugs exported from India.

Transparency in regulatory procedures was another key focus, with Nadda stressing that both the regulatory body and the industry must uphold the highest principles of transparency to meet global quality standards. He also called for continuous dialogue between CDSCO and the medical devices industry to facilitate ease of business while maintaining rigorous quality expectations.
