Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has mandated a thorough investigation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) into alleged illegal land occupations in the Upper Kosi Reserved Forest Area. The directive aims to uncover the roles of multiple individuals accused of occupying government land by illicitly buying and selling it through stamp papers.

The preliminary findings were laid out in a report from the District Magistrate of Nainital, following an initial investigation conducted by the SDM of Ramnagar. This report highlighted several suspicious activities suggesting that individuals were involved in unauthorized occupations of forest land and revenue land.

In light of potential economic crimes and other malpractices, Chief Minister Dhami has instructed the constitution of an SIT to delve deeper into the matter. The investigation will scrutinize the fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities tied to the case. (ANI)
