The mayor of Novorossiisk, Russia's principal Black Sea port, issued an alert regarding a potential sea drone threat on Thursday through the Telegram messaging app.

Mayor Andrei Kravchenko advised residents to avoid the coastline due to past Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian ships near the port, which have caused significant traffic disruptions. Novorossiisk is pivotal for crude oil and product exports, also loading commodities from Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, and managing an array of other cargoes including grain, coal, and containers.

In a related incident, Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Russian-appointed governor of Sevastopol in Crimea, reported that Russian forces had neutralized a Ukrainian sea drone in the Black Sea near the city.
