Andrei Kravchenko, the mayor of Novorossiisk, issued a sea drone alert on Thursday morning via Telegram, advising residents to avoid the shoreline due to potential drone threats.
In the past, Ukrainian sea drones have targeted Russian vessels near the port, causing significant disruptions. Novorossiisk, Russia's biggest Black Sea port, is essential for exporting crude oil and other products, including oil from Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, as well as grain, coal, fertilizers, timber, and various food and chemical cargoes.
Additionally, Russia's defense ministry reported the destruction of 10 Ukrainian sea drones approaching Crimea and 33 air drones over the peninsula overnight, according to TASS news agency.
