On Thursday morning, Novorossiisk's mayor, Andrei Kravchenko, issued a sea drone alert that lasted over two hours. The alert came following the destruction of a group of unmanned Ukrainian boats near Crimea.
Kravchenko advised residents via the Telegram app to avoid the city’s shoreline given the past disruptions caused by Ukrainian sea drones targeting Russian ships. Novorossiisk, Russia's largest Black Sea port, is vital for crude oil and oil product exports, handling various commodities including grain and timber.
Additionally, TASS news agency reported that the Russian defense ministry claimed to have destroyed 10 Ukrainian sea drones approaching Crimea, along with 33 air drones over the peninsula overnight.
