Kuwait is preparing to begin drilling and construction work on the Durra gas field later this year, according to Kuwait Petroleum Company's (KPC) CEO. Engineering studies are expected to be completed this summer.
Speaking to Reuters, Sheikh Nawaf Saud Al-Sabah revealed that KPC aims to boost production capacity to 3.2 million barrels per day (bpd) by the year's end and further increase it to 4 million bpd by 2035.
Additionally, KPC plans to invest 7 billion Kuwaiti dinars ($22.92 billion) in upstream operations over the next five years.
