Shri Jagannath Temple's Inner Ratna Bhandar Opens After Four Decades

The inner Ratna Bhandar of the Shri Jagannath Temple in Puri was reopened today to shift valuables and ornaments from its inner chambers to a temporary storage. The operation adhered to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Odisha government.

The procedure, overseen by an 11-member inspection committee chaired by Justice Biswanath Rath, was conducted with heightened security measures. Puri Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain confirmed the adherence to SOPs.

Security arrangements were a priority, as confirmed by Puri Superintendent of Police Pinak Mishra. The King of Puri, Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb, also visited the shrine, inspecting both the outer and inner Ratna Bhandar. All valuables have now been moved to a secure temporary location for further repair work.
