Tragic Playground Incident: 3.5-Year-Old Girl Crushed by Falling Iron Gate

In a grievous incident in Maharashtra, a 3.5-year-old girl named Girija Ganesh Shinde met a tragic end when a defective iron gate toppled onto her while she was playing with friends. The occurrence took place in Bopkhel, Pimpri-Chinchwad, at around 4 pm on Wednesday.

Authorities reported that the girl sustained critical injuries leading to her immediate death on the spot. DCP Shivaji Pawar confirmed the incident and mentioned, "A 3.5-year-old girl died when a heavy iron gate came crashing down while she was at play. Another child reportedly pulled the gate causing it to fall. We have filed an Accidental Death Report and will be investigating further."

The incident has left the deceased child’s family in immense shock. Officials added that they will provide more details post-investigation and will utilize CCTV footage to understand the full sequence of events. The parents are expected to approach the authorities after completing the last rites of their child.
