India's Path to World-Class Drug Regulation

Union Health Minister J. P. Nadda emphasized the need for a world-class regulatory framework to elevate India's status as the global leader in drug regulation. Speaking during a review of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), Nadda urged for a systemic, transparent approach to meet international standards.

He called for a roadmap with timelines, highlighting India's position as a leading drug producer and exporter. Nadda stressed the importance of transparency within CDSCO and the industry, and the necessity of continuous dialogue to understand and address industry challenges.

Nadda also pointed out the need to support the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector in meeting quality standards, ensuring a user-friendly regulatory environment and state-of-the-art facilities to maintain India's 'pharmacy of the world' reputation.
