Eight Family Members Hospitalised After Consuming Wild Mushrooms

Eight members of a family in Hazaribag district fell ill after eating wild mushrooms. The incident occurred on August 12, and all were admitted to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital. Eight members of a family, including six women, were hospitalised after falling ill from consuming wild mushrooms in Hazaribag district, an official reported on Wednesday.

The incident happened at Ambedkar Mohalla in Barkagaon block on August 12. All eight individuals were referred to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital (SBMCH), said B Ram, Block Development Officer of Barkagaon. One patient's condition turned critical, necessitating their transfer to a hospital in Ranchi, informed Dr. Virendra Kumar, Superintendent of SBMCH.

Dr. Kumar confirmed that those admitted to SBMCH have recovered and are no longer in danger. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
