Republican vice-presidential nominee JD Vance engaged in a direct confrontation with Vice President Kamala Harris as their planes landed simultaneously in Wisconsin. Vance approached Harris and her press team, questioning her reluctance to take questions from reporters. Reuters captured the exchange, which emphasized his desire to claim Air Force Two in the future.
Addressing the press, Vance remarked, 'I figured I'd come by and just get a good look at the plane because hopefully, it's going to be my plane in a few months.' He criticized Harris for not engaging with the media, asking, 'Have they given you guys an explanation for why she won't take questions from reporters? No. Nobody? Okay, great,' alluding to her lack of public interactions.
Vance urged Harris to engage more with the media for the benefit of the American people, stating, 'I hope that she changes her mind because it would be good for the American people.' Meanwhile, Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, participated in a photo-op with Girl Scouts before their departure, seemingly avoiding the encounter. Harris' campaign later mocked Vance on social media, prompting a sharp response from his team, further igniting the political clash.
