Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard R. Verma is set to spearhead U.S. delegations to Nepal on August 16 and India from August 17 to 22, in a bid to foster prosperity and security in both nations, according to the U.S. Department of State.
In New Delhi, Deputy Secretary Verma will engage with senior government officials, climate leaders, and aerospace experts to discuss economic development, clean energy, climate action, and STEM education. John Podesta, Senior Advisor to the President for International Climate Policy, and David Turk, Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy, will accompany him in India.
During his time in Nepal, the delegation will confer with senior government officials, development professionals, and business leaders on common priorities such as economic growth, women's empowerment, energy, and strengthening people-to-people connections.
