Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday withdrew his controversial social media post on 'X' claiming '100 per cent reservation for Kannadigas' in private sector jobs.
He clarified in a subsequent post that the Cabinet had instead approved a bill stipulating 50 per cent reservation for administrative roles and 75 per cent for non-administrative roles for Kannadigas in the state's private industries and organizations.
''It is our government's wish that Kannadigas should be given an opportunity to lead a comfortable life in their motherland. We are a pro-Kannada government, prioritizing the welfare of Kannadigas,'' Siddaramaiah stated. The previous post, which mentioned a 100 per cent reservation, was deleted to correct this misunderstanding, according to a source close to the Chief Minister.
