In light of the controversy surrounding probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar, former chief of the Mussoorie-based civil services institute, Sanjeev Chopra, has called for strict measures against those found using fake caste and disability certificates to join the civil services.
Chopra emphasized that individuals engaging in such acts should not only be dismissed but also made to repay their training costs and salaries. Additionally, he called for more extensive investigations into any accomplices involved.
Social media has erupted with claims of other IAS and IPS officers using bogus certificates, pointing to deeper systemic issues. Chopra suggested leveraging Artificial Intelligence for better verification processes and conducting thorough investigations to uphold the credibility of the civil services.
