The Gujarat government on Wednesday refuted claims made in a media report suggesting Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel had ended the practice of hiring contract employees in favor of regular recruitment.
The General Administration Department issued a statement contradicting the viral report on social media, clarifying that the state government has not made any such decision.
A Gujarati news channel had initially aired a report claiming that the CM planned to abolish contract-based recruitments, a claim the channel later retracted. However, the misinformation had already spread online, leading to widespread public belief in the alleged policy change.
