Delhi Police have arrested another prime suspect involved in the GTB Hospital shooting incident, officials disclosed on Wednesday.
According to the authorities, Faheem, the ringleader behind the plot, had assigned Moin (19) as a contingency operative. 'Moin frequently visited GTB Hospital to gather intelligence on its entry and exit points,' stated Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Surendra Choudhary.
Moin and his associates, Ayan, Aman, and Shavez, conducted a four-day reconnaissance before executing the crime. Initially, Moin was to conceal the motorcycle used in the operation while also acting as a fallback in case the primary plan failed, DCP Choudhary added. Investigations are ongoing. On Sunday, a misidentified victim, Riyazuddin (32), was shot dead by a teenager inside a ward at GTB Hospital. Police apprehended two suspects, Faiz (20) and Farhan, but they weren't the shooters, offering logistic support instead.
On Tuesday, police revealed that the attack was meant for Waseem (33), a rival of jailed gangster Hashim Baba. The accused, suspected members of Baba's gang, went to eliminate Waseem, who had previously threatened the jailed criminal.
