The Haryana Police announced the arrest of three shooters and four conspirators in the murder case of Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) leader Ravindra Saini on Wednesday.
The suspects were apprehended on Tuesday evening after a brief encounter with police, during which the three sustained bullet injuries in their legs. Saini, a 50-year-old two-wheeler dealership showroom owner, was killed in broad daylight last week.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of the Special Task Force (STF) and Hansi Police located the suspects near Umra village. The accused opened fire on the officers, who retaliated, resulting in injuries to the suspects. An officer was also hit but saved by his bullet-proof jacket. The accused were taken to Hansi Civil Hospital for treatment.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Yogesh alias Sukha, Sachin alias Magantu, and Vikash alias Kashi. Additional arrests include Mandeep alias Bajrangi, Sandeep alias Sunny, Taruna alias Tannu, and Mamta. Five pistols and 61 bullets were seized.
Hansi's Superintendent of Police, Maqsood Ahmed, stated that the suspects confessed to the murder during interrogation. The police had previously apprehended the alleged mastermind within 24 hours after the July 10 killing.
